Migration Program 2025–26

The Australian Government has announced the permanent Migration Program for 2025–26. The total number of places will stay the same as last year at 185,000.

Here’s how those places are divided:

• Skill stream – 132,200 places (71%)

• Family stream – 52,500 places (28%)

• Special Eligibility stream – 300 places

Important update: The Global Talent and Distinguished Talent visas have been replaced by the National Innovation Visa (NIV).

The exact number of spots for each state and territory has not been announced yet. We’ll share updates as soon as they are released.
