Victoria’s 2026–27 Skilled Migration Program: Subclass 190 ROI Now Open

Victoria has officially opened its 2026–27 Skilled Visa Nomination Program for Registrations of Interest (ROIs) for the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190).

For the 2026–27 program year, Victoria has been allocated 900 nomination places for the Subclass 190 visa, providing an opportunity for eligible skilled migrants to express their interest in Victorian state nomination.

If you previously submitted an ROI in an earlier program year, it is important to note that previous ROIs have expired. You must submit a new ROI to be considered for the current program year.

Meanwhile, registrations for the Skilled Work Regional visa (subclass 491) are not yet open, as Victoria's nomination allocation for this visa has not been finalised.

What’s Changing?

For the 2026–27 program year:

🔹 Subclass 190 ROI Now Open – Eligible skilled migrants can now submit a Registration of Interest for Victorian nomination under the Subclass 190 visa pathway.

🔹 900 Nomination Places Available – Victoria has received 900 nomination places for the Subclass 190 visa for the 2026–27 program year.

🔹 Previous ROIs Have Expired – Applicants who submitted an ROI in a previous program year must submit a new one to be considered for nomination in 2026–27.

🔹 Subclass 491 ROI Not Yet Open – Victoria is not currently accepting ROIs for the Subclass 491 visa. Further information will be provided once the nomination places are confirmed.

What This Means for Skilled Migration Applicants?

If you are planning to pursue Victorian state nomination under the Subclass 190 visa pathway, it is important to ensure your SkillSelect Expression of Interest (EOI) is accurate and up to date before submitting a new ROI.

The process involves checking your eligibility, submitting or updating your EOI through SkillSelect, and then lodging your ROI through Victoria's Live in Melbourne portal.

Submitting an ROI does not guarantee an invitation to apply for state nomination. Selection depends on Victoria's assessment and selection process, so applicants should ensure their information is accurate and meets the relevant requirements.

If you are interested in the Subclass 491 pathway, keep an eye on official updates while Victoria finalises its nomination allocation for the 2026–27 program year.
